Lumen Vitae was founded by Coline and Raphael - brother and sister, sharing the same passion for beauty and skincare.
What I admire the most is the brands understanding that a natural ingredient can be toxic, and a synthetic one can be harmless and fairly helpful.
When choosing a brand to work with, it is very important to me, whether our values, understanding, and expectations are in tune. We have to speak the same skincare language, you might say!

"Every Lumen Vitae products have been developed in close collaboration with a Doctor of Pharmacy, to ensure the highest level of efficiency and safety.
Our formulas are all about excellence. Meaning, almost every ingredient used is bio-active. Powerful actives that will help you reach your goals in terms of skincare." - Lumen Vitae
This is what I expect from the skincare that I use, science-based formulation with actives that work and deliver brilliant results for your skin.

Lumen Vitae promises:

  • No testing on animals
  • Recyclable and biodegradable packaging
  • Their skincare products are vegan
  • Ethical skincare
  • Made in France
So let’s have a look at the products and their ingredients which I have been testing.

It is an illuminating serum that contains Vitamin C to boost natural skin glow and also give the essential antioxidant protection. This serum is a brilliant powerhouse of bio-active ingredients to protect the skin from free radicals, pollution, and other environmental aggressors that cause premature skin ageing.
I must mention a very important fact that Lumen Vitae skincare product formulas are mostly not water-based, instead, they use natural and active aqueous phases, such as Aloe Vera gel. How brilliant is that!
Therefore in all the products that I have tried, the first ingredient on the list is Aloe Vera.
You can feel the soothing properties and light hydration of this wonderful skin-friendly ingredient that has been used to heal the skin for centuries.

This Radiant Glow serum also contains organic rosemary leaf water that has antiseptic and antioxidant properties.
Organic jojoba seed oil is very similar to the protective layer of the human skin. It is very skin-friendly, easily absorbed and therefore suitable for all skin types.
This serum contains glycerin that is a brilliant skin-conditioning ingredient. Also, as I have mentioned in the beginning, The Radiant Glow serum contains Vitamin C and it is pretty high up on the ingredient list, hence it delivers beautiful healthy glow for your skin.
Other ingredients on the list include organic shea butter, squalane, Hyaluronic acid, sunflower seed oil, pomegranate seed oil, zink, and organic lavender oil.
This brand doesn't compromise when it comes to the quality of their ingredient as you can see!
If I had to choose only one product from the range, it would be the Radiant Glow serum. You know me, I am a serumaholic.
This formula has 91.6% of ingredients of natural origin and 42.8% of organic ingredients.

This eye treatment promises to combat dark circles, fines lines and dry skin.
I found it very moisturising and nourishing. I do have an unboxing video on my Instagram page here if you fancy seeing those beautiful textures.
Again this eye cream has an aqueous base of Aloe Vera, organic cornflower and lavender water. Therefore it will deliver a non-comedogenic barrier to give your under-eye skin a healthy glow.
Packed with Hyaluronic acid, jojoba seed oil, collagen, sunflower seed oil and arnica montana that is meant to battle those dark circles. If you suffer from dry under eyes or want to diminish those fine lines The Primal Light Eye treatment is brilliant, really effective and so pleasant to use. Every time I use a dedicated product for my eyes I feel that I look more rested and fresh.

This day cream contains 91.4% of ingredients from natural origin and 80.6% of organic ingredients. How incredible is that!
Ray of Light has a creamy texture thanks to organic shea butter base that has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, it also nourishes the skin, reinforces the hydrolipidic barrier and protects the elasticity of the skin.
Brown and Red Algaes together with famous  Hyaluronic acid ensures the skin is hydrated. But most importantly, if your skin is combination and prone to breakouts, just like mine, this day cream is non-occlusive and will create a shield against external aggressors.
However, for very hot summer days I skip the step of day cream and just use The Radiant Glow Illuminating serum with an SPF.

So here it is, last but not least a night cream that you need in your life. Because it's not just your ordinary moisturiser. It is so much more than that!
Here's why:
This exfoliating night protocol will not only reduce the wrinkles because it contains Glycolic acid, melissa, geranium, and Ho wood essential oil, but also will fight blemishes and remove dead skin cells.
Containing same skin-friendly ingredients (as other products) such as organic shea butter, Vitamin E, jojoba seed oil and aloe vera, Moonlight has a very rich and nourishing texture that will soothe and protect even the driest skin while you are sleeping.
This formula has 76% of ingredients of natural origin and 51.45% of organic ingredients.

I want to mention some little details that make a big difference when it comes to quality skincare brands that put their love, thought and care into their products.
Firstly Lumen Vitae products come in glass packaging that is friendlier to the environment and let’s be honest looks and feels more luxurious!
Secondly, a tiny detail for some, but for a real skin geek, it is an extra though from the brand. I am talking about that every day and night cream that comes in a glass jar packaging also comes with a little plastic spatula! You know, that you should not dip your finger into your moisturiser... using a spatula is so much more hygienic! Let's be honest, how many of us wash their hands before applying moisturiser from the tub?! Here's a question from Skincare Police.
Thirdly, I appreciate the brands' transparency on their ingredients list. All organic ingredients are marked with a * sign on the packaging. They even tell you the percentage of natural and organic ingredients in each product.
All vegan products are also clearly marked next to the ingredient list. Just brilliant!
I also would like to add that Lumen Vitae products are very reasonably priced,  taking into consideration the ingredients, their quality, the luxurious glass packaging and that this small brand is run by brother and sister who are just passionate about skin just as me or you! You can find all the products, prices and very informative ingredient description to each product on their website here

*Disclaimer: Products are kindly gifted by the brand as part of a collaboration. But all opinions are my own.
